Purpose & Authority
Conducted directly by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi for:
- Selection of Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
- Promotion of high-level research in Medical & Life Sciences

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following academic standards:
- Life Sciences: M.Sc / M.Tech / M.V.Sc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields.
- Medical: MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc candidates are also eligible.
- Status: Final-year postgraduate students may apply.
Exam Pattern & Structure
Section A: Aptitude
Mandatory section focusing on general aptitude, scientific phenomenon, and general knowledge.
Section B: Life Sciences
Objective questions covering core biological and life science subjects.
Section C: Medical Sciences
Objective questions covering medical, biomedical, and health sciences.
