The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced its Internship Programme. This is an excellent opportunity for students in biotechnology, microbiology, public health, and related fields to gain hands-on experience in public health research, epidemiology, and disease surveillance.

NCDC offers internships across 14 specialized technical divisions. Interns can work directly with experts on national-level health issues like bacterial diseases, viral hepatitis, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), vector-borne diseases, and more.

  • Cycles: Two cycles – January & June
  • Duration: 2 to 6 months (varies by division)
  • Application Window:
    • For Jan cycle: Apply Oct–Dec (previous year)
    • For June cycle: Apply Apr–May (same year)
  • Fees: Free of cost (no stipend)
  • Certification: Provided after successful completion

๐Ÿ“Œ Application Process:

  1. Check Eligibility based on your course and division of interest.
  2. Apply Online through the NCDC website (when portal opens).
  3. Pay ₹500 via demand draft to Director, NCDC.
  4. Submit:
    • Support letter from your university (if you're still studying)
    • 3 Letters of Recommendation
    • Resume & academic transcripts
  5. Wait for approval from the selection committee. Screening may be applied based on the number of applicants.
