Purpose & Authority
Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) for:
- Selection of Junior Research Fellows in Biotechnology
- Funded support for PhD research in DBT-recognized institutions
- Promotion of advanced biotechnology and life sciences research across India
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following academic standards:
- Degree: M.Sc / M.Tech / M.V.Sc in Biotechnology or related Life Science disciplines.
- Marks: Minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by DBT guidelines.
- Status: Students in the final year of their postgraduate degree are highly encouraged to apply.
Exam Pattern & Structure
Section A: General Aptitude
Objective questions focusing on general science, mathematics, chemistry, general aptitude, and analytical skills.
Section B: Core Biotechnology
Advanced multiple-choice questions covering specific domains of Biotechnology and core Life Sciences.
