The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) has announced a vacancy for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Systems Biology for Biofuel Group. This project is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India, focusing on recombinant fungal technology for cellulase enzyme production.
🔬 Project Overview
Project Title: Scaling up recombinant fungus-based technology for producing DIBzyme-3 cellulase composition, its validation and further genetic improvement.
Project Duration: Maximum 2 Years
Initial Appointment: 1 Year (Extendable based on performance)
Work Location: ICGEB, New Delhi

- Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- Number of Vacancies: 01
- Salary: As per DBT Norms (based on qualification & experience).
- Note: No hostel accommodation will be provided.
🎓 Educational Qualification
Essential: M.Sc. in Natural Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology.
Requirement: Candidates with NET / GATE / BET qualification are highly encouraged to apply.
⭐ Preferred Research Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in:

- Optimization of fermentation conditions for enzyme production.
- Travel to scale-up facilities for large-scale fermentation trials.
- Preparation of technical reports, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.
- Lab management, ordering reagents, and maintaining activity sheets.
