Purpose & Authority

Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of UGC for:

• Admission to B.Sc and B.Sc (Hons) programs in Life Sciences.
• Standardized evaluation of high school Biology knowledge.
• Providing an equal, single-window opportunity for quality higher education across India.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following academic standards:

• Qualification: 10+2 (Intermediate) in Science stream with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Status: Students currently appearing in their 12th board exams may also apply.
• Marks: Minimum qualifying 12th board marks as determined by respective universities.

Exam Pattern & Structure

Question Format

Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) mapped strictly to the Class 12th NCERT Biology syllabus.

Duration & Marking

Typically 2 to 3 hours based on subjects chosen, governed by NTA marking scheme guidelines.
